Tomas Hammar is an abstract and figurative artist from Stockholm, Sweden, whose artistic ambition is to create the perfect balance between mathematical precision, chaos and harmony.
He draws his inspiration from the spontaneous moments in everyday life and the feeling that emerges during the creative process. With the help of brushes, scrapers and sponges, he allows his motifs to emerge through large, sweeping movements, which he then completes with detailed precision.
Thanks to his background as a photographer, Tomas has over the years developed a keen eye for lighting, composition and color nuances, which he today greatly benefits from in his creation.
Since 2018, Tomas has sold his art to more than 30 countries across five different continents. With his 150,000 followers on Instagram and an impressive exhibition history that spans Sweden and the rest of Europe, Tomas has gained recognition for his art and captivated audiences all over the world.

Our Story
Tomas and Mimmi Hammar
Gallery Hammar was founded in 2023 by the artist couple Tomas and Mimmi Hammar, who had long shared a dream of owning their own gallery where they could exhibit their art together.
The idea of establishing an art gallery in Vasastan was born as early as 2017 when Tomas was at the beginning of his artistic journey. After the impact of the pandemic, the goal became even clearer. In May 2023, Gallery Hammar opened its doors at Rörstrandsgatan 28 and currently represents around 20 artists and sculptors.
At Gallery Hammar, we offer a wide variety of Scandinavian art from both established artists and new talents whose works touch, challenge, and inspire. Our vision is to promote an innovative, inclusive, unconventional, and accessible space for both artists and customers. We constantly strive to provide a unique, modern, and relaxed environment where exciting encounters, interesting conversations, and lasting relationships contribute to a sense of community for all visitors.
Before embarking on their artistic careers, Tomas and Mimmi pursued different paths—Tomas dedicated over 20 years to photography and TV production, while Mimmi worked in HR for almost 10 years. Their diverse backgrounds have been of great benefit in the joint professional journey they have undertaken, often reflected in their roles as both artists and gallery owners.
